Holy Week

Palm Sunday
Holy week begins on Palm Sunday, March 24th. We will be looking at Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey, an act filled with symbolism, and almost immediately leaves the city to rest before his work ahead.

Maundy Thursday
On Maundy Thursday, March 28th, we share in the holy supper Christ gave the church to reveal his unfailing love for the human family. It is on this day that we remember Jesus' mandate (maundy) to love one another as we are loved by God.
Service is from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Good Friday
On Good Friday, March 29th, we will be celebrating a "Tenebrae" service. The word "Tenebrae" comes from the Latin meaning "darkness". A Tenebrae service is a moving and emotional Good Friday service that makes use of gradually diminishing light through the extinguishing of candles while reflecting on and remembering the "Seven Words From The Cross".

Lenten Mid-Week Services
On Wednesdays, starting on Ash Wednesday, we will be doing a series which contemplates the reasons why Jesus is going to the cross. Our lives are hard-because of our own sinfulness, but also because of the actions of the world. God knows this and has promised to deliver us from the pain of this world. He promises the ultimate redemption of the world and of all those who believe. The concentration of his promises is found in Jesus' cross.

Lenten Sunday Services
On Sundays, starting the Sunday after Ash Wednesday, we will focus on the promises that God has made to us. We need to start with the situation that God promises himself into: our sin and brokenness. Even as we see the depth and width of our sin, we see the promises that God himself makes, in the person and work of Jesus Christ. It's not going to be easy for us; in fact, it will probably be harder than we can ever know. Yet, God promises his hope and his new life, and we will see it in our lives.
