Partnering with Parents
St. Paul's Children's Ministry is for kids from birth through 4th grade. We aim to partner with parents in helping raise their children in the Christian faith. We want to help our parents by sharing the light of Jesus with their children and by providing resources that they can use at home.
One of the ways we partner with parents is by having the same monthly themes in Sunday School as are presented in Sunday sermons. This gives our families the ability to have conversations on the way home from church and beyond about what they learned. It is great to see kids and parents get excited when they realize that they are learning the same things.
With our curriculum we have wonderful resources that can help parents reinforce what everyone has learned on Sunday. Each week, we send home ‘Parent Cues’ and ‘God Time Cards’. The ‘Parent Cues’ gives the information on the theme and the Bible story for the week. The ‘God Time Cards’ are age-appropriate devotionals for our kids to do at home that help them dive deeper into God’s Word. Go to our 'Parent Resources' page and click on the links.
Our curriculum also gives parents access to a couple wonderful websites to use. The first is called ‘theparentcue.org’ which gives articles, pod casts and more. This website is a great resource for parents as they go through the different stages of parenting. The other website is called ‘studio252.tv’. This website is a great tool for parents to use with their kids. It has activities for them to do with their child as well as Bible story videos.
To keep our children safe, we use a secure check-in system that is located at the Welcome Center. Each child is given a name tag to wear and the parent is given a number to be used when picking up their child. All of our teachers have had background checks.
